Mon. 9/29 - update

Have a praise today!! Looks like Caed gained a whole pound this past week! We will "double-check" it tomorrow at clinic, but any gain IS A GAIN! Thank you God!

Dr. Mercer has decided to stop the Flagyl and begin oral-Vanco. Like I told them before, Caed has been on Flagyl many many times, and it has never seemed to work in my opinion. But, I guess we needed to try it again. Hopefully, this new antibiotic will WORK!! Please God......use this to get rid of the c-diff!!

We had a good day. Our plans completely changed as the day progressed, but it was all ok. We finally ended up back at Memorial Park playing some football. Caed had lots of fun!

Our plans tomorrow include clinic (of course), and then going to a pumpkin farm with a family we met yesterday at church. Hopefully that will all work out.

Thank you all so much for your prayers and comments/emails. I usually read them several times throughout the day. They are great encouragement for me and help me feel not so alone! I love each and every one of you!!!!

Lori, Todd and Caed,

Just a note to say HI! and to let you know that we continue to lift you up in our prayers every day. While I think about you and Caed daily, for some reason I caught myself thinking of you more and more today and I simply had to write.

You and Todd are a true inspiration to anyone or family who are experiencing difficult times. Your faith in God and his rightousness are overwhelming. Glad to hear the good news about Caed's weight gain. We give God thanks for those small steps.

Give Caed a Red Raiders "Guns up" and know that we love and care for you very much.

Thanks, Lori, for continuing to share with us - and praise for one pound. I wish I could give him some of mine.

Lori, you are amazing to me in how you are handling all of this. I would probably just want to hide some days (and you might feel that way too sometimes), but you are so open to meeting new people and making sure Caed is doing normal things. It is so hard to help our children when they have to face hardships at such an early age. I thank God for equipping you with wisdom and insight.

I know you know, but I'll just say it anyway - we only see the now and thankfully, our Father sees the future. Trust is hard...but so amazingly rewarding. When we see evidence of God's love and provision, it helps us trust Him more. But, it is not easy - and not natural. So, thank you for being so open to share your journey through trust.

WOW Lori, 1 pound!! I know it seems small, but after this "plauteau" Caed has been on, this is huge! We are pulling for Caed & praying EVERYDAY! This blog is an inspiration for me - a daily devotional. It is the first thing I read when I boot up my computer. It puts a positive spin on the whole day to hear good news like this!! I pray for you not to be lonely & to come home soon after the work in NE is done! GOD Bless,

How wonderful that Caed gained a pound! Thank You, Lord!!!
You'll have such fun at the pumpkin farm. How sweet of the Lord to provide someone to help take care of you all while you are there. He is SOOOO good!
Continuing to pray for the c-diff to be healed. The Lord is working... just hang in there with Him. He'll do more than you can ask or imagine in all of this!
My love to you all and my prayers as well.
In His love,
Carolyn O'Cain
