Wed. 4/9 - update

Today marks day #40 that we have been on this journey. At times it seems just like yesterday that it all happened, and others, it seems like an eternity! This morning at 6 am we decided to give Caed some anxiety med so it might help him through the endoscopy procedure. He began crying when he saw LeRoy (our faithful transporter). However, we rode in the wheelchair again with him in my lap. He calmed down as we made our way through the hospital. Once we got to the holding room, he watched some cartoons and then fell off to sleep. A definite answer to prayer! I know the nurses there couldn't believe he was the same child that normally cries the whole time. By the way, we had to wait almost 2 hours! (had we not given the med, it would have been an extremely LONG 2 hrs.) The procedure only lasted 15-20 minutes, and the dr. came out and said it went much easier than he had anticipated. He placed in the new tube in the opposite nostril (just to give that side a break). When Caed woke up, he was definitely anxious! Normally you have to wait at least 30 minutes in the recovery room. After the 4th time of being there, I think they decided to give him some slack and let us head back to the room early. (they monitored his vitals from there) It was much nicer, and exactly what Caed needed. The rest of the afternoon / evening was filled with pain and vomiting. His fever reached 101. THEN....around 8:00, we all of a sudden saw a smile appear as he watched "Alvin and the Chipmunks" (for the 100th time!). It's amazing how good that little smile makes Momma feel! He then wanted to read a book and even ate a couple of Cheetos. What started out as a very difficult day, has now ended peacefully. Pray that we will see more of that tomorrow, and that the pains/vomiting will also lessen. The infection dr. came by this afternoon and said the staph bacteria is not growing (good sign!), and he will need to stay on this antibiotic for 10-14 days. So...these small setbacks are now looking up. Thank you all for specifically praying for today's procedure. Overall, it went very well!

As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? God is my strength and power, and He makes my way perfect.
2 Samuel 22:31-33

Hi Lori,
We are all so amazed at the strength God has given you and Todd during this journey. It is truly an example of steps to be taken in trusting our Lord in all things...every little detail. For He cares for us.

"Blessed is a man who perserveres under trial." James l:l2. Keep going! God is up to something good!

With every part of your message, I could feel God's anointing upon you and Caed. Totally an answer to the prayers of the saints. As we stand to hold you up Lori, we are so encouraged to know our prayers DO make a difference.

Here we are Lord again. Called by your name and covered by the blood of the lamb. You laid down your life that we might have life more abundantly. We are humbled by the love you give. As the song says, "Majesty, Majesty, your greatness found me just as I am, forever I am changed by your love. Amen.

Much love,
Nancy, Randy, Hillary & Matt

P.S. Tonight at church, the ladies prayer team were praying in the parlor as the youth were meeting in the loft.

I would like to thank you, Todd, for holding Matt accountable to pray before the group for Caed. If our youth would only perservere 24/7 and stay committed to pray, I believe God would move even more miraculously.

Your turn Addie! You go gf!!

(Can we make this any longer!:)

Lori,
Several of Megan's friends were together this morning and asking about Caed. We continue to keep him and your family in our prayers. I know it seems like one step forward, two back, but the Lord in his gracious mercy has brought Caed so far and will continue to hold him in the palm of his hand. He will give you and your family the supernatural strength and grace you need. Jennifer
