Today began with us going back down to endoscopy. They came and got us in a wheelchair this time, which is much better and less traumatic for Caed than a big bed. We have been getting a certain transporter the last several times we go anywhere (his name is LeRoy) and Caed has become quite fond of him. I think it goes back to the whole "security" issue for him. (getting used to the same familiar faces). When we got down there, Dr. Feist (GI) first tried to unclog the tube "manually." He made several attempts, but never any success. So...they wheeled him to another room where they would put him under anesthesia and insert a whole new tube. Caed was sitting in my lap in the wheelchair through it all, and they even injected the anesthesia at that time. All of a sudden he went limp in my arms. (not a fun thing for Mommy and Daddy to witness) We layed him up on the table and left the room. About 20 minutes later Dr. Feist came out and said he attempted to unclog it one last time...it worked! So, they didn't have to reinsert a new tube. (however, he then was under anesthesia for no reason) They came and got us and put Caed back in my lap while he was still out. So, he woke up to the same place he was before...Mommy's arms. Pretty cool. The rest of the day wasn't necessarily great, but not bad either. He got sick a couple of times, and had some pain spells. Our good friend Brad (assoc. youth minister) and his fiance Crystal came to visit today. Brad is one of Caed's heroes!! He plays guitar and sings...therefore Caed worships him. Brad made a video for him of the youth worship service Wed. (the band) and of the youth singing a silly song to him, and also some of his Cubbie friends saying hello. Caed loved it!!! He smiled so big and has watched it over and over! Tonight has ended on a good note. He ate a couple of bites of lasagna (thank you Brent and Angela!), and had fun playing with some new toys he received today. (thanks Angela P.!) At one point he said, "I really like this!!!" We were playing with lots and lots of bubbles and he and Daddy were fighting them down with the swords. It was so good to see him smile and be silly!
*Just a little FYI for those of you who come to visit Caed. Grandaddy has started something with Caed where if he smiles (or gives hugs) he gets money!!! (he doesn't care much for the green ones....but he LOVES the brown and silver!) We have made him a little bank that he is keeping his "stash." Not promising that it always works, but we're willing to try anything to see that smile of his.

Good Morning Todd, Lori and Caed:
It's early here in Colorado Springs. Yes, tell Brad and Crystal I'm preparing the way for them. Clearing the airwaves.
It's 5:00 am here. Addie, I just found a computer to use. I'm right behind you praying.
God is faithful to answer our prayers. I am so happy for Caed that the doctors were able to unclog the feeding tube. Precept upon precept...one day at a time.
Will catch you tomorrow morning. Time for pickup!
Love to all of you,
Nancy
I'll be emptying my piggy bank before we come!! I plan on cashing in on the smile-age.
YEAHHHHH-I was so glad to read good news today! I pray daily for little Caed (and familY)! Caed--I hope you get "rich"! We love your smile! sherri
Lori and Todd, what a blessing I received in reading your blogs. I have been behind in reading them because I cannot connect to the blog because of our server at work. Anyway, I went back and read your blog from April 1, not believing it has been a month. God is so good and your devotional proves that he knows all and has a plan for all that we do in our life and our children's life. His hand is always holding us, and guiding us. We love you, and we will continue to pray for you all. God's plans are not always our plans. But thank God we can rest and know that God's plans are best. We never want to be outside of his will. You are a blessing, and the words you share with us as you go through this painful time are very uplifting to everyone who reads them. It amazing as we lift you up in pray and try and minister to you as we feel God calling us to do; you are actually ministering to us. We love you guys.
In God's Grip,
Brooks and Melissa Barr
Todd & Lori,
I talked to Jan McClanahan 2 weeks ago when I called FBC, Edna to ask that Jim be put on the prayer list. He had surgery on his colon and bladder 2 weeks ago and is doing fine now. She told me about Caed's problem and gave me the blog address. I have checked on you from time to time and I am praying for caed and your family. May God bless you and keep you in his loving arms.
