Sun. 4/13 - pm update

Oh God! We cry out to You!! Have mercy on us and heal our son!!

The surgery lasted about 4 hours. Right now, I am numb, so please excuse the lack of details. I am probably getting 1/2 of it wrong, or either leaving out 1/2 of it. Basically, she found LOTS of adhesions (scar tissue)! It took her quite a while just to cut all that out to see what the problem was. There were a couple of places that were partially obstructed. I believe she took out maybe 3 more inches of bowel. They also inserted a J-tube and G-tube. (one goes into stomach, the other into sm. intestine) Right now he is in ICU. Not sure how long we will be down there. Dr. G also put his name on the sm. bowel transplant list. She doesn't see an urgent need for it right now, but just in case. She also said the intestines looked pink and healthy and were moving. It's just some parts are healing faster than others. I'm not sure what else to say right now.......just PLEASE continue to PRAY for sweet Caed. We had such a neat time this morning with him. He was just like his old self (only medicated!). He is our joy and we don't know what we would do without him! Thank you to all who prayed for Caed during the surgery. We are trying to be optimistic...we just hate ALL that Caed will be going through the next several days. We will keep you updated. We love you all!

Lori and Todd,

Toby, Ryan and I have been praying through the surgery time not knowing when Caed would be out. Thank you Lord, that he is through another surgery. We pray for complete healing for little Caed.

"He is your God, the one who is worthy of your praise, the one who has done mighty miracles that you yourself have seen." Deut. 10:21

Expect yet another miracle, dear friends. God is able to make all things new.

Our hearts are pouring out for you. We love you,

Toby, Pam, Ryan and Connor

Oh, Lord, please continue to be with our little Caed bear. Please let this surgery be the one that heals him. Give his precious parents your super natural peace. Surround them with your love and grace. Lord, I know you hold them all in your hands. And you love them so much. Give them your strength to endure this time in their lives and may they continue to honor and glorify you through their pain.
Love you all,
Tina

Sweet little Caed. How God made you from the littlest detail to the biggest. He will get you through this. Oh Lord show us your mightly work and heal this little boy from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet. We know this is your child and you will take care of him. Be with Lori and Todd has they go through this again and show them the lamb like you showed Abramham. Bring forth you angles and cover them with the peace and ensurance that you are holding there hands. We love you Lord with all our hearts. We know you sent your son to die for our sins. So nothing is out of your reach. So take care of this family and all that is involed in this from the Drs. to the Nurse's and the family members that is helping out. Take you hand over Reagan/Caleb and just show them a peace for there life that has changed. Please Lord, not let this family see nothing but your hand in all of this. My heart achs to see this family going thru this. Lori has been a strong mother in this please don't let her lose faith. As a mother i can not even understand this. But to read Lori's writing it show how much she is standing in faith with you Lord. So just hold her up and get her and this family through and bring them home. We worship you and look to you Lord for guidence. So please give that to us. Amen Lori and Todd you are in my prayers and thoughts every min. of the day and night. I look over at the house so empty. Just begging God to bring you home. We love you guys. Keri

Lori and Todd,
We have been praying through the day and night. Precious Jesus our Lord, right now as Caed is resting through the night, touch him with your healing power. Renew, restore and revive his physical body.

We thank you for the doctor who took action and came to repair Caed's body to function correctly. Thank you for that wisdom and answer to our prayers.

Lord, as we pray through another step at this appointed time in Caed's life, we also speak peace and strength upon Lori and Todd.

Job 6:5 Oh that I might have my request, and that God would grant me the thing that I long for?

What is my strength, that I should hope?

Then answered the Lord unto Job out of the whirlwind. Job. 42:1 And Job answered the Lord, "I know that thou canst do everything, and that no thought can be withholden from thee."

Psalm 4:3 "But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself; the Lord will hear when I call unto him."

Psalm 5:1 "Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray."

Todd and Lori, my prayer is that as we stand on God's word and put our trust in Him, he is with us! and with Caed. We know that such a time is this for Caed. The Lord has set him apart and will be faithful to the righteous as we put our trust in Him.

We love you much,
Nancy, Randy, Hillary and Matt

Praying through our hour
It is now 3:11 am.

It's amazing to see all the people who are consistent and dedicated to praying for caed and the family! Just letting you know Lori that although Caed is still on the "Covin" prayer list .. we got on the phones again yesterday during the surgery and my Grandma began the chain... so be comforted that there are atleast another 100 people that are consistently praying for the fam!

To my nephew:

I can't wait to see you buddy! I am going to bring soooo many monies to fill that 'piggy bank" up! hopefully we can keep them in the bank this time so they don't become pooty monies!

To Reagan:
Hurry up and come home so I can see you! I miss you and can't wait to be able to play with you! Longhorns RULE!

love you guys!

Brad

Lori,
My soul aches for Caed and for all that you are going through. Many times through the night last night I lifted you up in prayer. Our sermon yesterday in Aiken was on the appointed seasons of our lives and that God is sovereign in all, not just our birth and death, but all the in between points. Ecclesiastes 3
After experiencing what we experienced with our son, I will never be the same. I know that last week you were wondering how all this will affect Caed long term. We have found with our son, that he remembers it all but he says that maybe God allowed it so he could help other children when they are sick. He even wanted to go back to the hospital last week to tell his doctor hello! So take heart, God will use Caed in a mighty way for His glory and the blessings in the pain will be remembered.

A note for Megan,
You are in our prayers and we know that you are being used in an amazing way for Lori and Todd. With Richard, it was a MAJOR relief to know the girls were in good hands, and I know it is a comfort to Lori and Todd as well. Enjoy your visit with Stan! The Bunco girls will pray this week for you all!

Love, Jennifer
