Fri. 4/18 - update

Our day started out at about 6am with Caed going down to ICU to get his drains removed. They gave him some pretty heavy-duty sedation med. He was awake, but "not home!" His surgeon said all his incisions looked great. She took the bandages off so we could get a good look. He has a little bulge in his abdomen. We are hoping it's nothing! They also clamped off his J-tube again today. He did throw up several times though. The nurses have informed the drs. so we'll see what they say tomorrow. They plan to start the feedings into the J-tube in a couple of days. He also had a BM tonight! (first since the surgery Sun.) They did have to give him a suppository, but whatever works! Hopefully this will start things moving on their own now. Overall, he had a decent day. Greg and Kristie from Edna flew in this morning. Greg and Caed are great buddies! You can see from the pictures that Greg was just what Caed needed today! He had moments of playing and being silly, and then times of not feeling too well. One of his nurses came in this evening and gave him some little Spider Man scrubs just like the ones he wears. (you saw him in a previous picture about to get hit with Caed's sword). These nurses have been SO good to him (despite sometimes Caed being "not so good" to them!) He has just become a regular here! Thanks for praying for Todd and I's colds. We were pretty miserable today, but hoping the worst is behind us. We have put our highlight of the day on video. Not sure if it will be on today's or tomorrow's blog. This is a small glimpse of what the real Caed is like...funny, funny! Hope you're able to get it!

Lord, we thank you for your miracle of family. Thank you for sending Caed the support he so needed from his family. We praise you for that! We thank you for their obedience. Thank you for laughter which so healing!!

Todd, I wanted to express my thanks to you for coordinating the concert for the youth this past Wed.

FireFlight Band was awesome! Just ask Brad! What a privilege and favor of the Lord to have them in our community.

Just an FYI, Thursday, I was in the radio studios of 91.7 FM (the truth) and 98.5 FM (the power) picking up back stage passes to see the Matt Redman band performing Friday night at the Joyce Meyer conference downtown Dallas. They told me FireFlight had been in their studio that morning airing a live broadcast.

I thought of Caed and could see him being our next generation "Super Star" for Jesus -- rapping it out on the drums or head banging with the rest of them!!

So I was doubly blessed with talented bands the last few days. As well as surprising my longtime girlfriend from Austin with "pit passes" on her birthday.

Our God is a miracle God!! Blesses us beyond measure!

Lord, bless Todd and Lori with good health. Strength and heal them of their colds. Give them rest physically, spiritually and emotionally. Amen!

Praying 24/7,
Randy, Nancy, Hillary & Matt

I'm past time. Signing out @ 3:34 a.m.
