Not too much to report today....which I guess is a good sign. It was basically a copy of yesterday in many ways. We did see our GI dr. this morning. Since he has cut his TPN in 1/2, he was a little concerned Caed might have lost some weight. Good news... he's holding steady. We are now getting used to his 10 extra pounds. However, when I look at his "pre-sickness" pictures, it kinda takes my breath away. He is SO different looking. Although I've found if you take the cheeks off, you'll see the same little Caed. The main thing that came out of that appt. was the dr. wants to start the feeds into his G-tube now. (only at night!) Which is good in that he won't be "hooked up" during the day, but....IF it makes him sick, well....it's going to be some long nights! However, he said that if Caed did start getting sick from it, we would stop it. Then, I'm assuming plan B would be feeds through J-tube. (which will require a procedure at hospital to insert) Pray the G-tube works!!!!
After Caed's appt., we went over to the Children's Hospital to say hello to our new extended family. We only made it to the 2nd floor because he started getting tired, and we could see in his eyes he wasn't feeling well. But, we were able to visit for a few minutes with some of our nurses. How very sweet they are!!! (not that I want to go back, but I do really miss everyone...after being there for 71 days, it's hard not to get attached emotionally)
Todd and I were able to go out tonight. (dinner and a movie) I can't even tell you the last movie I've seen. It was nice to get away for a few hours. (last night was my parents' turn) We are trying to set aside 2 nights when Todd is in town for the 4 of us to have some "free time." (usually Mon. & Tue.) So far, it has worked great! Todd will fly back to Celina in the morning. It was sure nice to have him here an extra day this week. It's amazing how much easier things are when there is another set of hands. Not to mention, good for our family to be together.
Again.......our main prayer request right now is for the new feedings to be ok on his body (no sickness) and for it to help his stomach and gut get stronger.
Caed has heard the ice cream
truck several times, but never saw him.
Today, we were in luck. My mom
pulled up beside him and asked if he
could stop. Caed was SO excited! He
got out with his $ and ordered the
Bloo-Kazoo! (licked maybe 5-6x and
was done)

I can only imagine how slowly this all seems! but as you always say God is in control and He sees the big picture!
just hang in there, stay strong and draw your strength from Him who loves you guys oh so much more than we do and that's ALOT! ! ! ! !

I haven't posted in a while. Just wanted you to know that we're still here...still praying...and still trusting for complete healing. We all so look forward to the day when you tell us you are coming home. What a party it will be! Love to all!
