Sat. 10/11 - update

First off let's just say...............Way to Go Tech!! What a great game! Especially fun being here in Nebraska. Let me set the stage for you. Here in Nebraska, there is ONE TEAM!!!! There are no pro teams or other big universities. The Cornhuskers are serious about football and very loyal to their team (even during not so good seasons like this year). I have been here a little over a month and cannot even begin to count the number of Univ. of Neb. t-shirts, caps, signs, etc..... They are everywhere!!!!! So, finally today we got to wear OUR TEAM 'loud and proud!' We sure got lots of looks as we were all decked out in our Tech stuff walking around the Omaha Zoo. ha! Todd kept us posted with text messages throughout the game. We were beginning to get very worried, but luckily they pulled it out in the end. I'm sure it was a fun game to have been at. Carol and Cordell.....we are very jealous!

We had a good time at the zoo. It was a little crowded today, but it was beautiful weather. My dad has to fly back home early in the morning.....Caed was very sad when we told him tonight. It sure caused us to think HOW HARD it's going to be on the 21st!! (when my mom, Reagan, and Caleb have to leave). Caed cried and cried when we had to drop Todd off at the airport last week, and I don't even want to think about how he's going to react when they have to leave too. You know, it's SO good when people come visit, but SO HARD when they all have to leave, and we're still here. It's going to be hard on everyone when they leave. I know Reagan is going to have a hard time as well. Not to mention.....ME!!! ugghhhh! They've only been here 2 days, and I'm already anticipating and worrying about when they have to leave. It's all going to be ok. I know that. The time (that we are here in NE) will be over before I know it. Again, I just need to stop looking at the 'big picture' and focus more on each day.

Thank you Lord for the fun 2 days we had with Grandaddy! Please let him have a safe trip back to Lubbock.

*a special thank you to Betty and also the 4th graders at FBC Celina. We got your pkgs! You are very sweet to think of us.

I'm not sure what it is with Caed and 'falling into ponds!'
They were walking around this little pond when all of
a sudden Caed slipped and fell in. Not to worry...it's only
a couple of feet deep (if even that). It scared him, but we
tried to make him laugh by asking him why he wanted to
take his bath at the zoo today. You can see where his
pants are soppin' wet!!!!!

What an awesome visit y'all are having. We just returned from spending several days with our two girls and it was so hard to say good-bye, but we have such sweet memories and pictures. Will be praying especially fervently about the farewells.
GREAT pictures!!! Hug the kids for me and tell them HI.
Sending my love and prayers as always...
In His love,

Lori, I read your blog and hurt for you but also see how God is working in your life and all the people he is using. What incredible parents you have. Your family is close knit and so very supportive. That is such a huge blessing to you. You mentioned anticipating them all going home and they had only been there two days. I couldn't help but think of a time when my son was in Iraq and he was coming home on leave. I was already worried about how hard it would be to send him back after his leave and his plane hadn't even landed. I had to give it to God and made sure we enjoyed every minute we had with him. God brought him through two tours in Iraq with so many close calls that you knew God had His hand on him and there was an Army of people praying for him. Caed is fighting his own battle and God is bringing him through it but not without his own close calls. Enjoy those moments with your kids and know that there is an Army of people praying for Caed and your family too. Cathy J
