Sat. 8/2 - update

We had a good day. Grandaddy was off, so the kids enjoyed him being around. Caed had to wear his backpack all day because we've been having some problems with the pump. There are times I check it throughout the day and it has stopped. I will call Home Infusion Mon. to see what could be wrong. So....not really knowing how much he actually got today....we decided to just keep him on. He, of course, said nothing about it. I am SO proud of him in that area. Never any gripes, complaints, whines about having to carry it around all day. He just plays like normal. He still is having quite a bit of diarrhea (6-7x/day), and there's still no consistency to it. We have doubled his fiber supplement intake, but so far still no change. Caed is still pretty hungry throughout the day. (although not as bad as it was before we started G-feedings 20 hrs.) If anyone is eating at anytime during the day, he becomes very interested in it and you just better watch out! Your food is about to be devoured by "someone else." We are still watching carefully what he is eating....mainly just trying to stick to anything healthy. He has also done great in this area as well. He will come to me many times a day and ask if "he can have somefing healfy.....?" He knows the foods that have upset his stomach in the past (chocolate, milk, anything too sweet or spicy), and simply doesn't ask for it. Which makes it very nice to not have to fight that battle. Generally all we have to say is, "Dr. Higgins said he doesn't want you eating that..." and usually he just accepts it and goes on. Again our main concern is simply his weight (either need him to gain or just maintain). Also, need his intestines to begin absorbing. So, yes... Caed is doing SO much better. He has made such incredible progress. However, he still has a ways to go. Thank you for continuing to pray for him!!! We truly feel your prayers and can't say thank you enough for pressing on with us................
