Wed. 6/11 - update

Let Caed dwell in the shelter of the Most High and rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Be his refuge, his fortress, his covering, his shield. Do not let him fear the terror of the night, nor any type of plague or sickness. Do not let any harm or disaster come near Caed. Command Your angels to guard him in all his ways and keep him from hurting himself. When he calls on You, answer him. Be with him in trouble; deliver him and honor him. Satisfy Caed with long life and show him Your salvation. (Psalm 91)

(a dear friend I have not seen in years sent me a book of Scriptures to pray over your children.....thank you so much!!!!!)

Today was good in one aspect, and not so good in another. Caed only threw up one time all day (and that was from crying). HUGE STEP!!! He hurt a little more today than usual, but I think it's a "good pain." Last night he ate a few bites of cheese pizza and chicken. (all stayed down!) He complains of his lower abdomen hurting, and I think it's the intestines moving things through. Ever since we've started the G-tube feedings, he has complained more of pain. (today he ate 2 tsp. of applesauce, 1 Tbsp. mac-n-chz, and 4-5 bites of dry cereal) He was not ever his normal, playful self today, but like I said....no throw ups, so we will classify this day as positive!

(Caleb is sick...which explains the fussiness the last several days. He has his 4 mo. dr. visit on Friday. Pray for relief for him!)

Wow. So does this mean the new g tube concoction may be working? Glad to hear he only threw up once... that's terrific! Sorry that Caleb is sick! Hope he feels better soon! As always... praying for all of you!

Lord, we thank you and praise your Holy name for sending your word not to return void. Thank you for this beautiful Psalm 91 that covers our very existence with your all consuming love and blessing. We thank you for keeping Caed in the palm of your hand and to gather your loved ones to come along side to lift him up in time of need.

Thank you for your glorious voice to be heard on high. God is faithful and His word is forever settled in heaven.

We praise you Lord for Lori and Todd in their obedience to put you first and lean on your word. You have answered their call and have touched the lives of many.

We worship you Lord. We give you honor, praise and glory.Amen!

PS. Happy Birthday Addy. We miss you too.

Hello! My name is Alyssa Boren. I'm a friend of the Lashaways and a Texas Tech student. I heard about Caed just a few weeks into his ordeal and since then he has been in my thoughts and prayers very often. I'm always checking the blog, hoping for any little improvement for him. I spent all last night with a stomach bug and really prayed for little Caed a lot-- "Why is he going through this and WORSE Lord?!" Thank you for this blog and your beautiful insights. The prayers will continue to come your way!
