Happy BIRTHday Reagan!

On July 5, 2000......Todd and I were blessed with our firstborn. Although she was a "surprise" to us, God knew. He knew her before the foundation of the world and the joy and excitement she would bring to our family. His timing was perfect! We have watched her grow from the little strong-willed "firecracker" toddler into a beautiful, sweet, loving 9 yr. old. She has brought us so much joy and pride, and we eagerly look to the future as to how the Lord will continue to grow and use her.

This year Reagan had an extra special birthday! For almost a year now, she has been asking questions and making comments about being "saved." We did not want to pressure her, but rather answered her questions the best we could and then simply prayed. We felt very strongly that this needed to be HER decision and didn't want her doing anything she didn't understand or for the wrong reason. Finally a few weeks ago, she brought it up again and this time (by the things she shared), we knew she was ready!

....That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord, " and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved........Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Romans 10:9-10, 13)

...having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith
in the power of God, who raised him from the dead. (Colossians 2:12)

So....on Sunday, July 5th (Reagan's 9th birthday) she publicly stood before our church and professed Jesus as her Lord and Saviour. Todd was able to baptize her, and it was a very special moment for our family. (I videoed it and am trying to upload it to the blog....so keep checking back)

one of our little traditions each year to stick the # candle in her breakfast....(at least she didn't chose cereal this year.....it's kinda difficult!!)

Reagan chose to go to Olive Garden after church on Sunday....and got a little embarrassed when they came out to sing
